Job Purpose

The Paralegal will provide support involving many areas including customer and corporate compliance, litigation and corporate matters.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide litigation support including collecting, organizing, and producing documents in response to all types of requests including third party subpoenas, drafting written responses to requests, managing litigation calendars and maintaining litigation files
  • Assist with customer and corporate compliance issues
  • Draft responses to customers and third parties
  • Conduct research on specific legal issues or topics
  • Assist with any questions/legal support needed in regards to customer and corporate compliance and law enforcement queries
  • Provide case management support, including monitoring and following up on case calendars, response deadlines, and paper and electronic research
  • Prepare and conduct and/or assist with training classes and workshops on various legal and or related topics as requested
  • Communicate effectively with corporate department heads, customers and law enforcement
  • Maintain professional growth and development through seminars, workshops and professional afflictions to keep abreast of latest developments in applicable law in other related areas
  • Assist with maintaining/updating corporate minute books
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Previous corporate law department experience and/or large law firm experience is preferred
  • Minimum of two years of paralegal experience
  • Litigation experience is helpful
  • Demonstrate professionalism and skill working in a team environment and coordinating workloads
  • Ability to multi-task, be highly organized and consistently meet aggressive and time-sensitive deadlines
  • Effective communication and drafting skills
  • Experience using case management software (i.e. Basecamp)

Preferred Skills

  • Intellectual Property Experience (Trademark and Copyright) highly preferred
  • Paralegal certificate, strongly preferred
  • Notary appointment helpful, but not required
  • Technical knowledge of the Internet and domain names, including Host and Who is look-ups preferred
