Job Summary:

The ideal candidate has some in depth knowledge of cloud architecture and interaction - private, public, hybrid, as well as with IaaS, PaaS, CaaS and managed hosting in order to develop solutions based on various cloud products. A number of years practical experience utilizing the above software/tools to guide and advise our customers or potential customers along with producing guides and reference architecture is also part of the role. In addition, you should have experience in design of cluster solutions/HA concepts at the application level as well as experience in the architecture and operation of distributed, scalable multi-tier applications.

In depth experience with Kubernetes and automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Puppet and knowledge of DevOps tools and methodology is also required. Administrator of large server farms (Windows/Linux) and 5+ years professional experience as a technical sales engineer/pre-sales engineer for cloud solutions.

Knowledge in network, monitoring, DDOS protection, CDN, Cloud APIs, VPN, firewalls, load balancers and storage are required. Experience in dealing with NoSQL and relational databases, backup & restore along with disaster recovery processes will be beneficial.

  • Support sales in the acquisition process of new customers, in particular, capturing of individual customer requirements, technical consulting, design and solution proposals and tender processing.
  • Support in the on-boarding and post-sales phase of SME and Enterprise customer projects
  • Conduct individual customer meetings, webinars and public webcasts
  • Represent the company at customer events, partner events and trade shows
  • Product technical expertise in application and design of Kubernetes and automation tools
  • Evaluate third party IT product solutions that can be used on the IONOS platform to enhance our offering and the customer adoption process
  • Support the knowledge transfer within the Pre-Sales team, sales department, the support and in the company.
  • Capture the needs and requirements of our customers and understand how to structure them
  • Be an active part of the continuous improvement of our services and internal service management processes


  • Degree in Computer Science or several years experience in related field of IT
  • Administrator of large server farms (Windows/Linus)-3 years professional experience as a technical sales engineer/pre-sales engineer for cloud solutions, with a consulting background
  • Design of web server architectures, cluster solutions (HA concepts) at the application level as well as in the architecture/operation of distributed, scalable multi-tier architectures.
  • Cloud architectures interaction (private/public, private/hybrid, public/public as well as with IaaS, SaaS, CaaS, managed hosting to develop solutions based on different cloud products
  • Networks, monitoring, DDOS protection, CDN, cloud APIs, VPN, firewalls, load balancers and storage
  • NoSQL handling, relational databases, backup & restore plus disaster recovery processes
  • Development of scalable architectures with API management, micro-service frameworks, container orchestration systems (e.g. Kubernetes, Rancher, Docker)
  • Persuade others through presentations, demonstrations, written communications along with excellent verbal and written communication skills in the areas of requirement analysis, positioning, business justification and closing techniques.
